Help Me Please!!

Well I'm new to the forum as well as building computers...I decided to build my own computer for games mainly (COD4,CODWAW,Crysis,etc.) I put everything together with some help and when I turn it on nothing comes on the screen..the heatsink fan comes on,the graphics card fan comes on,everything in the computer comes on...I cant figure it out any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh ya..the 9800gt is brand new my father in law got it yesterday and it works fine in his computer..

Components:
-MSI 790x K9A2 CF-F
-AMD Athlon X2 7750BE
-4gb ram
-nvidia 9800gt (until hd4870 comes in)
-500gb SATA Hard drive
 
Every mobo has small speakers that usually beep once or more, or don't beep at all, have you got one of those? Manual should have troubleshooting beep codes.

Try unplugging everything except CPU, memory, videocard. Don't need DVD or HDD to test it, remove accessories that are not required to start it.
Try strating it with only one memory stick, then switch to another one if it would not start.
Connected power cords to mobo 24pin, CPU 4-8 pin and videocard 6pin (both)?

Try resetting BIOS settings (refer to your manual, or find it online)

That CPU is kind of a new one, your mobo might need BIOS flashed with older CPU inserted before new one can be used. I installed Phenom II in my older 780G and it was not recognized until I flashed BIOS.
 
i doesnt beep..tried everything you said except for using a different cpu because i dont have one...my father in law is coming to look at it soon so hopefully he will find it out because im so frustrated...got my hd4870 in though so i hooked it up just to try but still no go...ughhh
