hi guys i need help please,i have this problem after i installed a program recomended here to convert avi to dvd ,my screen got weird all the letters look very very light i can't even see or read nothing i uninstall the program and i did a restart and still the same problem i'm running windows vista thanks a lot in advance...

The main problem there is typical of an incompatibility with Vista to start off with. I ran right into this even when following the Vista compatibilty lists seen at http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List
What may work as far as using the system restore feature was seen in XP. But Vista has a new F8 menu to contend with. Booting from the installation of recovery disk included the option now seen in Vista is the repair Windows selection that repairs a number of problems automatically as opposed to entering "
%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe " at the safe mode /command prompt only option in the XP F8 boot menu for a manual startup of the system restore process there.
When contacting Cyberlink when seeing installation and removal problems with PowerDVD 6.0 supposedly compatible according to the information seen in the lists at the link above the response was to go with the newer version as well as with their PowerDirector software. The newer versions with many desktop applications will be backward compatible to XP.
