help me....taskbar error

while we open a window,usually there is an icon on the taskbar.
however,yesterday when i opened softwares or windows such as 'internet explorer' or 'my computer' ,there is nothing on my taskbar.I tried to restart my comp but nothing changed.i wonder if it's caused by virus or trojan..

anyone please help me..

right-click on taskbar-->properties, then tick "show quick launch"
