Help me with my computer!

Hey guys. This is my first thread here on Computer Forum. I have a bad computer. My friend tell's me it is just the CPU but i don't know?
The CPU i have is a Intel Core 2 solo CPU (processor) it have 1,4 gh CPU-.-
When i bought the computer the man said the comuter i have was a gamer computer-.-

So when i comed home i tried the computer and stuff. So latter i played some games like Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike Source. So the computer did just handle some servers and other just slowed my computer down

I'm saving money for a new computer. Any tips for a good computer?
 
AMD phenom II quad core 3.0GHz (pretty inexpensive and ton of performance)
any MB that supports sata raid
ATI 4800+ or 5800+ video card
4 x 2GB HardDrives setup in raid 10 (this will be super fast)
8-12GB of ram
a good atx case, something with easy access to HD will be useful
a good atx power supply with 650w

thats enough to get you started, I could build a heavily spec'd pc like this for less than $1000.00USD. :) hope this helps
