did u make sure your computer turns on with the other card? it might be a RAM issue, sounds like youre having the exact same problems i was having, i took 1 stick of RAM out and its been working perfectly..
 
i cant think of anything else that might be good to try.

have you tried it in another system yet?

if you have and there has been no result then i think you should just contact wherever you bought it from and talk to them about sending it back
 
yeah but what exectly could be wrong then?

i dont understand what could be incompatible unless you didnt have a pci-e slot. but you do.
 
i dont know. when i check the system at the pc centre, he suggested me to change to a new mobo, since the card works perfectly with other cpu. plus, i cant figure out any other reason why the card didnt work with my pc.
 
i just cant see why your mobo would be the problem.

it could just be that you have to adjust some setting that you didnt have to adjust to get your old card to work
 
well help me sum it all up and then ill ask some people.

so basically:

bought new 8800 gt, worked in other system but not yours,
mobo has right slot, psu has 6 pin power connector.
cant find problem.

is that besically what we have covered? or is there more?

sorry i just need it to be clear in my head
