okay so i am/was building a computer right now ive got a aopen ak89max mother board a msi 52x cd drive 1 512 stick of crucial memory amd processor seagate harddivre and all that fun stuff and i got a ati radeon 92000 video card but whenever i plug the monitor into the card nothing happens i mean the screen goes to warm up and then shuts off, ive tried 2 different cards and this is my frist build ever and my frist ever anything with a computer then typing on it so help me give me advice the puter turns on and then just keeps going..

sorry for the long sentance and grammer and spelling and crap please just help
 
Start taking stuff out that isnt absolutely crucial to system boot and see if you cant get it to boot. Also check that everything is connected securely (but not shorted)
 
nothing again it powered up and thn when i clicked the monitor on nothing happened i once again used 2 different monitors i did get the vid card from a friend so could it be that?
 
man i am not smart memory was backwards but now i got the issue of not detecting harddrive oh well i hope i can figure it out

WTF????! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! Make sure you havent COMPLETELY FRIED your mobo! :S
 
1. Yes but the machine automatically shuts down after that right?
2. Try swapping the video card (and now the RAM too)

:)
