ok when i turned on my computer this moring it enought power to turn on a led light on my mobo. i turned off the computer put it in the side and it worked fine. then i turned it off and put it standing up and turned it in and it did the same thing it did before HELP ME

So your saying that when you power it on, all you see is a light on the motherboard and then it turns off? if so, the problem is 1 of 3 things, the power supply is dead, motherboard is dead/damaged, or your cpu is dead/damaged. If you have an extra power supply laying around, try to install that and see if it works, if it doesnt, then its either your motherboard or cpu.

well it worked before for about a week and this moring it didnt turn on but is put it on its side and it worked perfectly

it also did it with another power supply. i tought it was just the power supply. but now its doing with this one

nothing happened to your computer did it? did it fall over, spill something on it, extrememly cold or hot weather?

it didnt fall or i didnt spill anything on it it just works on its side but not standing up
and like i said it did it wiht another power supply

i have the fatal1ty an8-sli mobo and the aspire chameleon power supply

ok, um........ i haven't really ever heard this problem before.........is like a screw loose or something that is causing it to be where soem part should be when fliped over but hits something when it is standing up? i really don't know what the problem could be.

it has done it wiht another power supply form a differnt comp. so it might be or could it be the mobo

so should i take the power supply aprt and try to fix it

um, chances are if it did it with 2 different power supplies then its not the psu, but try to turn it on again, then dis-assemble it and put it back together see if that helps.....

try seeing if the processor is loose, it might be pulling out while standing up, then lieing back in the socket while laying down...

well, that could be it, but i don't think that would be it since when it stands up as long as u don't tip it the other way it shouldn't pul out, especially if the fhs is pushing on it........BTW, i fixed my computer!

i'd do a microsoft fix. Tear it apart, put it back together and see if it runs.

Sounds like something is loose somewhere. You can either spend hours tracing it down, or just completely reassemble the thing. Chances are you'll find the loose connection while pulling it apart. If not, then at least you know all your connections are secure when you put it back together.

but it has worked before today
it worked for 1 week cuz i built it last sunday and i have been playing games and stuff for that week

ya, that still doesn't mean that something could have misconnected, btw thats exactly waht i said before vort, but ya, tear it apart put it back, if nothing, that will just make u have a bit of fun........now if only i could find a fan around here that could cool my hs.....

told ya it would work if u just went through and "rebuild" it

now if only i got my fan issue situated.....

Before = it worked ... so whats the problem?

it didnt fall or i didnt spill anything on it it just works on its side but not standing up
Spacers? Loose connectors? Try taking it apart and putting it back together again... you'd be surprised how many times that fixes things

ok then so open the powe supply and then close it and then turn it on
and if that dont work
How exactly is opening a PSU supposed to fix something?

like what are you saying
the 24 pin pluge
The motherboard headers .. i.e., ATX24 and ATX12

try seeing if the processor is loose, it might be pulling out while standing up, then lieing back in the socket while laying down...
In that case the HSF would also fall off

Hehe glad you got it fixed :D
