twice now in the past 3 days

It just shuts off , like its had the power pulled otu of it

I pulled the cover off of it and 2 of the fans are working but one of them isnt ,

is it possible its getting hot ?

Do i need to take it in to see whats going on

I DONT want to lose the data on my computer, after I try to power it back on , it wont come on , it trys then goes back out ,

after about 2 minutes, it will come back on

im making data discs of all my demo discs ive made so I wont lose them

PSU is dying... check by unconnecting the fans, the floppy, and CD/DVD drive...

Overheating.... leave for 20 minutes, turn on, press Shift, Del, F1, F2, F10 continuously, until an blue screen appears. Then go to Pc Monitor, or PC Status.

whats a psu

whasts this

Can this problem be fixed

I sure hopw so sinc I am still paying for this computer

ive had it almost 2 years and havent had any problems out of it

drives work fine and floppy ect.

Open the case, and unplug the floppy, cd/dvd drive, all the case fans, and turn it on. If it works fine, you PSU is dying/not being sufficient enough...

If you still have an warranty, let them fix it.

ok ill have to wait till this dvd burns

so , im wanting to unplug everythign to see if it works or if the computer doesnt work?

how long before I post back saying if it works , do i need to let it run awhile without the fans ect plugged in

im confused lol

ok ill do that , Im going to wait though and try and get these Movie trailer demos ive made , i worked to hard on them to lose em

ill also say that my computer has been on for the last 24 hours other than it going off a few minutes ago

then i turned it on after 2 minutes

so , I mean , even if i do unplug what you are tellig me to , am I suppossed to run the pc for that long to see if it works

I dont want to sound stupid , but you told me quote

"Open the case, and unplug the floppy, cd/dvd drive, all the case fans, and turn it on. If it works fine, you PSU is dying/not being sufficient enough...

if it works fine after to unplug everything that means its dying ?

so I dont want it to work after I unplug that stuff?

That means that your computer power supply, (the box that you see behind your computer with vents and an fan), is not supplying sufficient power to your computer, meaning that when your computer demands extra power for whatever you do, the power supply cannot give out as much, which is like an power shortage, the power supply either overheats and shuts off, or it just cannot supply ample power and shuts the computer off. Either way, if you unplug it and it works well, then you may need to replace your power supply.

If it crashed in the middle, don't be suprised. Burning takes up more power than you'll believe.

im going to do what you told me to here in awhile

but just to ease my mind

if this is what it is

does it mean you have to pish the computer away and get a new one

or much does it cost to fix something like that

$xx is all it costs. If it's an Dell your outta luck, since it is not, then your fine. Please do as I have instructed and see if you can get the specfications of the PC you have.
