HELP! my External Harddrive wont show up on My Computer!

HELP! my External Harddrive wont show up on My Computer! it's a western digital 160GB. I plugged it in and it's running, but it wont show on my computer.

Did it come with any software to install, my Maxtor had software that I needed to install before XP would recognize it?

Also check your device manager to see it is showing up in there

Device Manager isn't showing anything. I was trying to convert my External Harddrive from Fat32 to NTFS and then I was lagging and all I saw was my desktop screen and waited 30 min for everything to clear up but still nothing. Yeah, I turned it off while turning on and I ticked this box in the properties saying faster cache or something, but may do something if you disconnect while the harddrive is active or something like that. it also says USB Device Not Recognized. NOOOO!

It should show up automatically. Have you tried the drive on another computer? See if you can replicate the problem on another computer.
