help:my GIF files wont animated

i have a prob here..when i 'save in as' a GIF pict,i can view it but it wont animate..

strange thing is the GIF is not in GIF type format but its in BMP type after i save it.i cant change the format type when i save it:( So what's goin wrong now:( ??.i know my explanation is confusing..i'm sorry about that..plz do reply me..i need ur help ...many thanks..:)
 
erm..i save it to my folder with out using any specific program..i list down the step ok

1) "save in as "the pict -GIf (because i cant directly copy paste it to my folder)
2)check my folder (the GIF is in BMP file )
3)the GIF doesnt animated
4)try to convert it when i "save in as" again to GIF file (but i cant make any selection...only has one section which is the BMp type format )


really bad in explaination..sorry X_X
 
So yoyu are trying to grab an animated gif from a website somewhere. You right click it and save as a file on your PC. Right?
