pretty cool video,
right did you go in Skype to settings and video settings and selected your camera, if you camera is in there then you drivers and the camera should work fine. what i also got from the video that you have a black screen so i guess that you have a problem with the camera itself (this is thinking from perspective that in skype you have selected your camera) it may been damaged in some way, thats hardware problem so need to take it back to the manufacture (or the place you bought it from) and ask them to repair it, since you have vista i think it will be out of warranty so will have to pay for that.

here try this link http://download.cnet.com/Chicony-USB-2-0-Camera/3000-2110_4-180132.html just in case (most likely will do nothing)

My friend just told me that it is most surely the drivers that might have broken, so if you want to try uninstall the drivers for the webcam in device manager, but before i need you to get me the vendor id and device id, so in device manager click on the camera, properties, details, chose hardware ids, and copy the content. i then can find the proper driver for it.

ok i did that the hardware ids are:

USB\VID_04F2&PID_B070&REV_0834&MI_00
USB\VID_04F2&PID_B070&MI_00

ok do i HAVE to uninstall the driver? wont it just replace the old one thats not working properly? or do i hv 2 delete the old 1? btw it was working before (the camera). thx.

well try uninstalling the driver in the device manager for the camera, just go into driver tab click uninstall. a thing cannot have 2 drivers, only one will be installed. once uninstalled, restart, that should install the originals, check if that works. if not

hmm , wait, i cannot find anything for those ids, apologies, but when restarted it should still reinstall itself.

Drivers already on your computer. Just install. You don't have to uninstall. Will just overwrite old driver. This driver different than most.

ok, i did system restore and i had 2 accounts back then, on the 2nd account, the camera was working, but the name i dont like, i changed it on the control panel but it wouldent change on c:\users (there was no "Rename" option and it wouldent let me do it on properties) so i tried making a new account, but it didnt work, so im rly pissed off right now... plz can someone help? thx :D

nvm - i fixed it myself, all i had 2 do was go 2 control panel and click on add/remove programs, click "camera assistant software" and click "change" then click "repair" then click "restart" and then it worked :)

thx 2 every1 who made the effort to help me with this problem! even if it didnt solve it, at least u tried :) thx everyone! :D
