help!!! need advice on graphics card selection..

help, im a newbie in notebooks.. im planing to buy a gaming notebook but i dont have the resources to buy one with a good graphics card..

if i buy a notbook with intel gma as its built in graphics card, can i put a ATI or GEFORCE graphics card later when i have the money??

also, what is the best graphics card on the market now..

There are only one or two laptops available that can do this but I believe they cost a lot anyway. There's a new idea coming out soon however that means you can have an external card, but it'll be bulky and needs an external power source.

There are many more than just one are two laptops today that allow this. But if you get one with integrated graphics, it's very unlikely you'll be able to upgrade it.

Upgrading your G-card later is a BAD IDEA!
Laptops are very uncustomizable...basically the only things you can upgrade is the RAM and hard drive. alot of laptops have integrated g-cards, which means you cant swap em out. plus, if you could, they are hard to find and quite expensive.
Your best bet is to get a laptop with a good g-card pre-installed. if youre looking at a gaming laptop, the hp DV9500 is a good bet. they offer a geforce 8500 g-card, which runs directX 10, and you definitely want Direct X 10!

dx10 isnt such a necessity though, finding a cheaper laptop with a 7950 gtx would be better than most of the 8m cards now, except for maybe the 8600GT. at least thats what say the benchmarks and FPS of some common games

but i have some thngs to ask.. it seems that there are a lot of options out there.. so i'd like to narrow down my options.. i want a laptop that is powerful enough to be a gaming notebook and portable enough to be brought in the office.. so maybe around, 15"-15.4" screen i think.. with great gaming capabilities..

what are the models that i should look into or choose from.. also my budget could go as high as US$ 1,500.

BE PATIENT AND SHOP AROUND. i got a great deal on my laptop cause i was doing my homework and found a $200 off coupon.
i have a 17 inch and it kicks butt. i highly recommend a hp dv9500z. as far as specs: 2.0 ghz dual core, 2gb ram and no less than 120gb hard drive. with all that, you should be set to play Halo 2!
