Help, I've just bought a new Packard Bell E2316 laptop which has wireless capability. I've currently got a home PC which is connected to broadband, can someone tell me the gear I need to buy to be able to connect my laptop and use that and the PC at the same time.
Thank Lis

On josh's recommendations i would go for the second one over the first one, you may not think you will need up to 54Mb/s but believe me, you will notice the speed difference if you buy the 11Mb/s one. Also, 54Mb/s is at least a little bit futureproof, whereas 11Mb/s is outdated already.

packard bell still alive? i thought they gone already. i bought their pc in 94.

Yeah, I thought they were dead about 6 years or so ago at least! Anyway, on the router subject, the other major difference is in coverage. When buying a wireless router there are four categories: B, G, SuperG, and G with MIMO technology. Each category gives an increasing amount of coverage from the location of the router, in additional to the increased speeds. So, I'd also get at least a G, more because of the coverage area than the speed factor, and it's really hard to find a B card anymore anyway...

You need to pick up a wireless router like stated above and get a PCI/USB wireless card for your comp, i just bought a wireless g 54mb/s D-LINK router from fry's electronics for $15 after the rebates...
