Help needed for building a computer

IMO...

PSU - Never buy OCZ - i've seen them kill too many video cards when they die. I always use something made by Seasonic (Antec TP, Corsair AX)..

CPU/Mobo - I've got a similar setup, you'd be much happier with Intel dollar for dollar right now. I returned (and paid restocking fee) on my 8150 because it wasnt any faster than my phenom ii.

HDD/RAM - Awesome pics

GPU - Very old, and overpriced. Check out a GTX560ti here http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121424

Case - Fractal has awesome bang for your buck

I just love it how you go and say a GTX 460 is very old and overpriced and then you go and recommend him a 560 Ti which is a 2 year old card and has been replaced. :/

It looks all right to me, some improvements though:

Firstly the 460 is an old card, as is the 560 Ti. So I recommend you go for a Radeon HD 7850 which is much faster, more power efficient and usually cheaper than the 560 Ti. The 7850 also has twice the V-RAM of the 560 Ti if you get a 2GB model.

Don't get the FX-8150, get it's successor, the FX-8320. Much better overall part.

Not sure why you feel you need 16GB of RAM, go for 8GB. You chose a good brand though.

I have an OCZ power supply myself and I know plenty of other people who also own them. They're absolutely fine, so disregard what's said above. The ModXStream 700W is good, but 700W is overkill for a 7850, get a 600W model instead.

Otherwise looks good.

Yes, the 660 replaces the 560, but for the same price as he listed he can get a 560ti, which is a better card in every way than the 7850. If you know how to use full 2 gb of DRAM please share.

Actually 660>=7850>=560ti
So getting 560 ti for that high price is of no use if you have the latest faster cards for the same price.

The 7850 is much faster than the 560 Ti http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/549?vs=547 also consumes less power and it is cheaper http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150641 why would you go for a 560 Ti over a 7850, I don't know.

As for your comment about RAM, play any game at high settings at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 or any higher resolution and you'll want the extra RAM. I game on a 1GB 5870 at 1080p, it does the job, the 1GB of RAM is sometimes a limitation. 2GB is nice to have if you like to play at high resolutions.

Really, getting a 560 Ti now 2 years on from its launch when the 7850 is cheaper, faster and more power efficient is just daft.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was also wondering if these things would be able to run Arma 3? That is the whole reason i'm building this computer.

What's the cost on that build, after shipping?

Newegg has a combo w/ Sapphire that's 13 less.

1866 for the same price as that 1600. Lower profile too so when you put a bigger heatsink on your processor you know everything fits.
