Help needed please!

Hey there,
I need to buy a new computer but I'm totally lost about what and where to buy.

I need a computer made for gaming that's not gonna cost me everything I own.
I've been looking into a Dell computer which seems ok but I don't know whether to buy or make one. I don't really know enough about making a computer. I suppose the question is: Are Dell computers any good?
Any tips or advice you have about buying or making a computer would be great, thanx.

It depends what Dell your talking about.

A good GFX....(cheap aswell)-Radeon 9200, or GeForce 4....but High end gaming card Radeon 9600, GeForce 5900, Radeon 9800, ATI X800, GeForce 6800 ultra

Would you be willing to take the time to learn? If you have an interest, it can be one of the most fulfilling projects to take on and accomplish...

Once you get past the acronymns and the socket differences you could build more computer for your money...if you don't mind supporting your own creation =)

We'll take the leap and build one! To be honest, the hardest part is getting the CPU/hsf into the mobo (well thats what i found to be the hardest part when i started) .. and you can always ask someone to do that for you the first time or what not Everything else is easy (except for maybe when you pay for it )
