Help Needed - Urgent

Hi guys,

Sry for asking question on first post but it is very urgent. We recently got an emachine T3304 but I wanted to be able to play age of empires 3 on it....... so I installed 1 GB of ram, ordered a new 500 PSU right off the bat, and an nvidia pci express 6800 xtreme 256 mb GDDR3 video card....

I also ordred an AMD Athlon 64 2.0 GHZ 1mb L2 cache 800 Mhz FSB....

My question is,..... I didn't really check to see if the motherboard can hold this new chip.... Both chips are the same socket (754) but I forgot too see if the new chip that is coming can be handled by this motherboard.... I can't figure out who makes the motherboard? Doesn't say anywhere on it. The current chip on it is an AMD Sempron 3300+ 1600 Mhz FSB.

Help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Adrian,

Man dude...if you were going to add all that stuff, why didn't you just purchase the parts and build from scratch?

Anyway, as long as they are both the same socket, it should work fine.

I would suggest completing the ensemble and getting a new board too.
Can get a decent 754 board cheap these days.

Maybe build a HTPC or something with the older parts?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the input. I was a little worried because I was looking at new motherboards and I was seeing specs called "processors that can be handled" so I was wondering if mine was too fast for this cheap board. I would of built one from scratch but I wasn't intending to play until later on. This is the second set up in the house for the parents. Anyways thanks for your time. Hopefully it all works out.

Does anyone know what motherboard is in that machine right now?
Emachine T3304

Adrian,

Call Emachine, that's what i did, and they told me the motherboard model and stuff. Oh btw, you might have some overheating issues, as emachines cases are tiny and only have one 80mm fan.

^^^ yea my dad got one from work to "try to work on some stuff at home" and it was constantly overheating in a stock setup, might have just been a bad one but who knows

I have an HP Pavilion a810n with the AMD 64 3300+ that are only in HP's/Compaqs - It is socket 754. ;) Download the program "Everest" - it will tell you the motherboard. Or just open the case and look for it somewhere on the mobo.
