Hello there

I recently picked up a virus and have had to re-install windows xp. Unfortunately, I now cant get my soundblaster soundcard to work and am unsure what to do. I've downloaded the drivers but it keeps aborting at setup, saying it cannot find the soundcard. Can anyone offer any assistance as to how I actually locate it on my system?

Many thanks

Rob

2 options:
- you havent inserted the sound card correctly - check it to make sure it is
- you've got the wrong drivers - do you maybe have the ones supplied on the cd?

I haven't touched the soundcard so it should still be in properly. Not got the cd unfortunately, but fairly sure i've got the right drivers (x-fi extreme). Should it automatically locate the soundcard? I guess thats what you're saying. I cant find any trace of the soundcard when i search, but I'm not too sure what I'm looking for. It says 'setup cannot complete as cannot find supported product on computer.' Also, if I go into volume control it is not listed in under mixer device.

Cheers for the suggestions.

Rob
