Help needed

When i start to play CoD WaW it stops and i get this error message.

Looks like it is to do with a onboard sound card problem and vista. You can try re installing sound drivers. Also try updating directx. Hope that helps.
 
if you right click on my computers and select manage you'll get a window and select device manager. then you can see all the devices. Find sound devices. Then you need to select your sound card. Should be something like realteck audio or something. Then right click and select uninstall. This just removes it so the card is not installed. Then restart the computer and the system will pick up the sound card and reinstall it. Hopefully this should fix the problem.
 
Done what you said and just played 5 mins of game and touch wood all seems ok,thank you very much.:D
 
Sorry to be a pain in the rear but now i'm getting a black screen with the words out of range,it happened after i tried to change the res on the game.
Do i hit it with a big hammer now or later.:mad:
 
You can try changing back to the previous res and see if that helps.

If not can try going into the folder were you installed call of duty world at war:

“Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty - World at War Beta\main\video\”
and delete the file called: “Treyarch.bik”. It seems this file causes alot of black screen and lock up problems.

Can't find any specific to out of range errors but maybe your monitor is having problems handling that res.

Let me know how that goes.
 
When it came up out of range i opened the game up in safe mode,how can i go back to normal mode to test out deleted file.It plays ok in safe mode but i would sooner play it in normal mode.My monitor can go up to 1900 somthing.





Deleted the file Treyarch.bik.
 
Go into the game, but then once in, ctr,alt,delete out and close it done that way. Then start it up again and it should ask to start in safe mode and choose no and it will go back to normal.
