This is my system so far:

NF3 250 series motherboard (Win Fast)
Radeon 9700 128mb g card
PNY 256ram 400mhz 184 pin
CD/Rw- 52x
24bit - soundblaster

400W ATX PSU

AMD 64bit CPU 3000+

After connecting everything, the system boots, and loads up to the screen with the Winfast logo, and the bios beeps, indicating its working. Then, either several options occur. It either loads up on the screen saying what each master drive, slave drive is etc... then says booting from CDrom, Nvidia, or, it loads up on the default bios screen saying press F1 to continue. If i try and boot from my old hdd, it fails. As expected really. Trying to boot from my windows 98 disk dosn't work either,

Pressing Del, Esc, or Tab on boot, works for a while, But Every Time i boot the computer on, it works for around 30 seconds, then turns itself off.... Anyone got an idea what could be happening?

It is probably something really basic but i don't know whats happening. Any ideas? Does anything else need to be connected to the motherboard? Or has anyone else had this problem?

Dosn't get that far, tried it. It turns itself off without warning. Could it be that its overheating...in such a small amount of time.... Cos the longer i leave it off, the longer it runs for afterwards.... but.... thermal paste + artic cooler fan for CPU, g card has a fan ....so what could be doing it

Definitely sounds like an overheating problem, are you sure the cpu fan is running and that you installed the heatsink properly?

a load = easily covering cpu top. Not like a tiny lil bit in the center that was smeared out. Thermal paste covering the entire top of the cpu like load...

You covered the entire top of the CPU with thermal paste before putting your heatsink on?

If you did that is your problem. You only want a small bit of thermal paste in the center of the CPU and then put the heatsink on and the paste will spread out.

Lol, so i basically described up there, exactly not what to do.

<---- idiot...

Well, gonna try this, if it works i luv ya. If i dosn't.

Crap

This is all that you need.

Ok, thats fine, it dosn't turn itself off anymore.

Windows is now installed, and the drivers. But, whenever i restart the computer, or turn it on and off, the screen remains blank with the standby light going on and off. I then have to reset the Bios again, then it will work. Until i turn it off, then i have to do it again. This means, i either keep my computer on permenantly, or i reset it everytime i use the computer....

Anyone know whats causing this?

Nothing wrong with spreading it yourself beforehand. You still need to avoid too much tho
