Greetings!

As you can see by my post count, Im new here.... I\ll explain my problems right away....

I recently formatted my computer, to Microsoft XP Pro Corp. However, I didnt write over nor did I upgrade the former system(Xp home edition), leaving me with 2 options to chose from, Home edition and Pro Corp. So Im wondering how to remove the first one, Home Edition. Ive already removed some of the files, still one I cant get deleted, read-only file, but it still shows when I start my computer, which I want to chose.

Also Im wondering whats taking up so much of my space! When I check all the folders, they take up a sum, but not the biggest one, with that I mean, Windows, Program files, Mine directory etc. But still Im missing a big deal of space that I have no idea where its stocking up.

Also, since Im from Sweden and the XP Pro Corp is an english one, my keyborard is set to English, which I of course want to change to swedish, but unfortunately I cant figure out how...

Summary

1. How to delete Xp home edition completely from my system.
2. Whats taking up so much space and how can I deal with it.
3. How I change my keyboard settings to swedish typing.

Any help is appreciated! Also if you have any questions concerning my system or anything else, feel free to ask.

Thanks in Advance

1)I suggest to re-format your hard disk, and perform a fresh installation of Windows. This way you will get rid of your old Windows version, and the MBR of your HD will also be cleared.
2)What kind of hard disk you have?Have you any forgoten files that take space?
3)To change the keyboard language,go to Control Panel-Regional and Language Options-Languages tab and then click Details and add Swedish support.

I appreciate your fast answer!

I would re-format my computer, but I don't want to lose some important files. I got like 4 gig music and some other programs that I don't have on a cd.
I don't what kind of hard disk I use, only that I bougt this computer 2000...

Is there any safe way to reformat but keep some files?

I really don't know what takes up my space. For example, everytime I download something or install a game and then remove it, first with add/remove programs, and then I manualy delete the folder.

And thanks for the language question!

it is better if you have your drive partitioned, it is easy to back-up when you have lots of drive letters. you can copy all your files on the drives first after that you can format that system drive.

Well, for one I don't recommend you use pirated software, and the Corporate edition is most likely pirated as it was only sold to enterprise under a volume licensing agreement.

Once you clean that little detail up I'll explain in detail how to clean up your boot.

When you boot into XP Pro, click Start > Run > msconfig > click on the BOOT tab > Uncheck XP Home.

SirKenin:

Yes, the one I'm using is pirated. And sorry, I can't change it since I don't have anything else to change too. I would buy a genuine copy of Xp Home Edition, but since I'm a student, I try to find ways around things since I'm a bit short on money. Anyway, I appreciate you trying to help me, but I also understand if your not willing to support a pirated version... Thanks anyway!
One question, whats the "risk" with pirated versions?
