help neeed with laptop

hi i really need some help on my laptop
i have a acer 4820t. basically last week i was using it plugged in, and it just turned off. wouldnt start. wouldnt turn on without battery or with battery. tested the charger, it works. so was told i need a new motherboard. so i bought one of ebay, changed them over. laptop starts up now, but theres no screen. the fan just gets really quick. have i missed a connection or something???

open it back up check your laptop screen is fully connected with all its connectors to the motherboard. If they are and that fails, remove the CMOS battery (the silver coin battery) for 10 seconds. Put it back in and power laptop back on. Good luck.

Are you sure they are the exact same board? My first thought (aside from the new board possibly being bad) is a difference in the GPU. Your old one didn't have a dedicated GPU but the new one does... Thus it can't cool correctly and/or has a different video cable.

That aside, of course be sure everything is seated correctly. CPU is seated fully, RAM is installed correctly (the right slot if only one stick). test it on external monitors too...

Oh, and do the "lock/light test... See if the keyboard responds at all (caps lock, num lock, etc).
