Help! Network Controller FAIL

Ok, so if any of you read my other HELP threads for my other comp issues you know I have in essence "gone up the pig's ass for a ham sandwich" Finally got both computers up and running after having replaced a hard drive in the one that acts as my gateway for the net. I can connect to the internet (obviously) and it claims to make a connection to computer #2, however #2 never aquires an IP... I keep getting a pop up for "found new hardware" my network controller (on #1)... I used the disc that came with my board to set everything up, but there is still no driver for the controller... I dloaded the network driver from Biostar (i am using a biostar p4m80-m4) during the installation it pops up a progress bar, says " installing network adapter" then says faild to install network adapter (and i know i spelled failed wrong, but its what the windows says lol) someone plz help as I backed up #1 onto #2's HD and would rather not xfer all back one 4gb flash drive at a time...

EDIT: sorry, says cannot install network adapter, then in device manager has a ? next to controller and says no drivers

Either you are downloading the wrong driver or there is an issue with the onboard lan card. If the lan card is bad then the easiest fix would be go buy a separate PCI network card and install it, the driver will come with it.

im an idiot

ok, have onboard LAN which I am using a crossover to connect to #2, also have a usb wireless card which i connect to the net with, ALSO have a pci wireless card that i forgot was installed on the board lol, this was the driver i as lacking lol... however #2 will not connect to #1 still... stick at renewing IP, ran network setup but it fails, I set up manually and checked boxes for ALL net sharing types to be accesible on #2, but still stick at renewing IP, any clue?

You need to run the home and small office setup wizard and make sure that both computers are on the same workgroup but named differently.
