Thanks for the help.

You would be doing self a favor but just building a new rig.use the old hdd and optical drive to save some money. Maybe the car depending on the size.but a new pc none the less

Haha sorry,i meant case. Most mother boards still have at least 1ide channel so your drives would still work. If you could get a new hdd though you would see a good performance increase

So how do I know which motherboard to choose? Sorry if I sound like a noob lol. Do I just pick any random motherboard?

Thanks for that list, It was actually really helpful. Before I go into that though do you think this build is good?

I picked that out yesterday with a friends help but It seems to me as the ones you gave me would be better. This is my last question lol. Thanks for the help.

It does, but you won't get any gaming out of the built-in graphics. You're gonna have to get a dedicated card if you want to do any kind of recent gaming.

I know that but will the built in graphics card conflict with the one I buy? Ive never built a computer so I don't know whats compatible with what.

get a 2x2GB ram kit instead of 1x4GB. You will see a performance increase, even though it is the same amount of ram. 2 ram sticks will actually give you double the flow of data.

unless you plan to upgrade to more in the near future, and truly the increase won't be a problem for now if you do plan to upgrade.

and for the graphics card interfiering with the integrated, that's not a problem, it is made to detect these things automatically, as long as the cord is plugged into the card's slot it'll use it, otherwise i don't think you'll see anything with it plugged into the mobo's slot and the card in too.
