it is under boot proity, not under removable devices only floppy disk, and under the ide config:
primary ide master- quantum fireball as
primary ide slave-not installed
secondary ide master-not installed
secondary ide slave- not installed

i dont think its in stalled cause under removable devices in the bios, it only list the floppy drive

the thing you can do now i think is.
1. check cdrom IDE cable or jumpers
2. have a bootable floppy for the cdrom drivers

I hate to bud in on your two's conversation, but if Im not mistaken you are talking about illegal activities.

i have a windows 98 full but i got this off the net..i burnt it on a cd, n it doesnt boot when restarted
oh yea my com is a omnitech 1ghz comp 20gb hdd n 512 sdram

It might be old, but you still have to pay for windows 98, and thats why its not working because you downloaded it. If you say you have the full. Just use the full.

You have two options, go out and buy a copy of windows (xp?) and install it. It should work perfectly then, or download a distro of Linux. Personaly, I would suggest Ubunutu.

ignore the angry mans post...
if it says what it says in the initial post when you boot it, try simply typing WIN and pressing enter.
if not, LEGALLY DOWNLOAD windows 95 as it is abandonware, and seeing as you BACKED UP YOUR OLD COPY OF 98 to 'preserve the disk', make sure the folder 'i386' is copied to a disk and run setup from inside windows 95
