I'm running a Phenom 9600 Quad-Core @ 2.3ghz and i wanted to overclock it, i read some of the overclocking guide and it doesnt talk about AMD CPUs so im not sure if this is a good idea. im asking for a broken down explanation of how to oc my cpu.

Im on a Foxconn (if this is a problem plz tell me, im getting a new ASUS mobo) A7GM-S
Patriot Viper DDR2 1066 (2 x 1gb) + some other 2gb one, something like Balistic
And if it matters my psu is 450

EDIT: lol i just realized my signature had most of my specs :P

The OC guide for intel is the same procedure for AMD, don't worry about it. Also, running three sticks of ram is bad. Especially since they aren't of equal capacity and maybe even speed. First of all, you're forcing your RAM to run in single channel mode, instead of dual channel. You need an even number of sticks to run it properly. I would take out the third stick (the 2Gb) until you can get 4 gigs of matching RAM across four or two sticks. Secondly, if they are of different speeds, the faster ram will downclock itself to match the slower ram.
