how do u reformat you HDD if no operating system is installed ???? do u have to do it by bios ?
 
You'd have to install the HDD in another computer and format, unless you have a utility that you can boot from CD (hard drive manufactures make boot disks that you can use to format, but you have to buy them).

What's the rush? Feds knocking at your door?

you could also get yourself any windows boot disk win 9X and up and boot to that disk and use the fdisk and format commands. you can even do this with a Dos boot disk.

but the easyest way maybe like PohTayToez say just pull the disk and move it to another computer and reformat it depends what you want to format it for.

if you are going to install a OS just use the OS install disk and reformat it when intalling the OS

oo ic , no i wanna get this computer done for my brother for his Bday, but if the feds were coming id flush down the toilet lol

try and crush it with the toilet lid as much as a i can lol

I'm a plumber....you'd be surprised what I've pulled out of a toilet, if you don't want the feds to find it, don't put it there!! :D
 
Boot up a live linux distro and use gparted.

Whilst you do that i'll start up a thread on different ways to destroy a HDD.
