Well, hey, its your choice (duh! ) If you want a new one, get it, if you don't then don't. I know almost 0 about gaming, cause I never do it (ya, I know, a kid not doing gaming:eek: ) but I prefer learning things:eek::cool:here

Usually on the front, back, side, whatever, just look around on the outside. And make sure it is the MODEL # not the SERIAL #, the serial is yours, not for anybody else to know ;)

Wait a minute, i am not positively sure any 4x gfx card will work with your system, that's why I wanted a model #. Do you know what it is?

I can always check and im getting an 8x card

Check how? And your computer is 4X, you need to make sure that the 8X card will work with 4X. Most do, but not all.

I would go with the FX5500 of FX5700, but it is your choice. Both of those are definitely 4X as well as 8X

BTW, I have the 5500

ohh i think this might only be 8x. Also I typed in my model number and basically the only differnece is my computer is 2.2ghz not 2 and its case is a little different in design.

The computer or the video card?

Typed where? Different from what?

I typed that into a search engine and the graphics card is 8x I think.

Which graphics card? The FX series is all 8x/4x, I know

BTW, this is all your choice. I have given you pretty much all the advice that I can without looking at your computer. If you KNOW that your computer is 4x, and you really want a new gfx card, then find a gfx card that says in the specs 8x/4x. Other than that, I can't really tell you much more.

I will still be around, btw:rolleyes:, if you have any more questions

So, good luck and happy gaming:cool:

The ATI you wanted is just 8x

Ohh there is 1 little probelm witht the cards you told me look at. I was hoping to get a 256mb not a 128mb which are the only ones within my price range. Also I dont know the first thing about over clocking so im not likely to.

I take back everything I said b4, the 9550 is also 4x

"Supports the AGP 8X and AGP 4x standard, providing a high-speed link between the graphics board and the rest of the PC"

:o

Argh, those little specs are so hard to find.

So sure, get that one if you don't want to OC. And, basically, to OC a gfx card, you move a little slider up a little bit at a time, and it (normally) works better

I am not liable for you blowing up your computer if you don't know what you are doing:D
