Help Please on "Video Capture Devices"

Hello everyone.

I am relatively new here. I would like to bring up a problem I have encountered: I am trying to run a chat program written in Java, that also has a netmeeting option. However, everytime I attempt to run it, I receive a message saying "No Video Capture Device" and consequently the slot allocating to showing your live pictures appears empty. Although I have a web-cam installed in my computer, do I still need something else as "Video Capture Device"?

1. do you have drivers for the camera?
2. do other video applications like say Microsoft Netmeeting work? (if so, blame java)
