yah its a backup dvd of win xp pro but i have my own cdkey
those um... "backup" disks don't always workbuddy;) often times they don't burn write cus of protection... there will be errors in the ISO... in some disks... which i am guessing it was, probably had a error in the ISO when u installed it... just my guess

So it does not boot at all?
I had that problem try messing around with hdd jumper I did that it worked ofc try each one then try to install don't worl next ect... :)

I have the exact same problem. It goes through the whole setup, then restarts and goes through it ALL over AGAIN...wtf
It just does the same thing over and over again...very lame... I WANT MY COMPUTER RUNNING.

I have a XP Home CD...& key

On the first reboot when instaling reset the bios to boot to the harddrive, sounds like your getting the boot loop

i dunno maybe it worked for the other guy but when i change it to boot from hard drive first this screen shows up..

Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt

Last known good configuration

Start windows normally

...I've selected/tried every one of them but it just keeps restarting...what should i do??

Like I said I had this sort of problem that restarts and restarts the computer but mine gave me error messages like pci.sys is corrupted then more but set jumper in the forth place and it worked took me 25 hours to find out everyone told me it was cd but it din't have no scratches others the mobo had a ram slot issue :)

I have the same issue, quite annoying frankly. Away from the computer for a sec and all over again. As said it lies in BIOS, as BIOS is set to boot from CD as first option. What i do is simple, after having installed you get this 15 secs to reeboot or something. When they have ticked down and the computer initiates a reboot just remove the CD and it will boot from the harddisk instead.

Windows XP installs fully you must remove it from the optical drive, it will of course start over again if you have optical drive as 1'st boot device. Like others said. You want to stop the first boot and set 1'st boot device as HD or simply remove the CD/DVD.

Edit:
