hi guys
I'm trying to find a game i used to love on the pc, it was like age of empires but you had to build your village and make huts and stuff. last played it about 10 years ago.

Populous perhaps? Old classic that seems like it fits the bill. Although it could be something else. Or any of the sequels...
 
no its not populous. it was set in the olden days where you had people building houses but you needed to chop down trees to do so and kill animals to eat. oh god this is killing my brain!!
 
One of the age of mythology games? Or perhaps age of empires? Or Civ games?

Granted, I think your search is pointless, unless you took a time machine from back then to today your going to spend about 20 hours looking for the game, find it, realize by todays standards it sucks, and wish you hadnt waisted your time/ruined the great memory you had.

Such as when I tried to find the original sim city >.<!
 
Warcraft?

I had/have a demo of Warcraft 2 Dark Tides (By Blizzard Entertainment?). That may be what your looking for.
