Help Please!!!

I think my mobo just died and I had two hard drives running in a Raid 0 set up I had a whole bunch of info on these drives including wedding pictures etc, is there anyway I can get this info off of these two hard drives? Please help.
 
what do you mean as a slave? would it work to just hook them up into another system? since they were set up in a raid 0 config once you set them up in another system would they be accessible to pull data off of them?
 
I do not know anything about RAID, but i almost certain the data is accesable. A 'slave' drive is a fancy term used for saying 'the drive u just add in, like a secondary drive'. Like open up another computer and plug this in and if its IDE set the jumpers to slave. Another way is to just put the drive in an external enclosure, but u dont need all that. if u think u do, just post back.
 
well i think what we are going to do is buy a new hard drive build a new computer witha new mobo, cpu etc etc after it is all set up we will put in the other two drives via a sata plug and see if we can get to the info that way, how does this sound?
 
I'm not so sure, Raid 0 takes a file and stripes it across all raid drives so the files may be split making them unrecoverable.
Raid 1 makes an image so then you could slave it in another computer.
 
my old mobo fried as well and i needed the info off of my old hard drive. i bought a new hard drive and ran it as my master, then plugged in my old one as the slave. then u can just access it like u would any drive from my computer. Instead of C drive it should be your D drive

Did you have Raid ?
 
You don't; with SATA you have drive 0, 1, 2 etc... not master and slave. There are tools to re-build a broken array, but they do cost money (some are in the hundreds) and I'm not sure if they can read from an array on another motherboard.
 
If you set both of the HDs up in raid 0 in your new build it should work...

In RAID 0 the data is spread evenly across the disks, and you can't recover any data by plugging one of them in as a "slave" or something. If your new mobo allows you to set up HDs in RAID 0 nothing shuld be lost.

I think the way an array is synchronised is dictated by the individual controller, unless the OP is using a dedicated RAID card then they'll have to use a recovery tool or some way of recovering the data.
