help please!

hey guys
i need help with my router, i set it up on my old computer and it is currently beening used wirelessly to 2 laptops. i have connected it to my new build (cable) but will not connect to the internet, but it will not connect to the router (to the settings bit), i am using the IP given but will not find it

need help asap

to get new computer to hook up sometiems you have to reboot everything.

1. turn off all computers that use the router.
2. unplug the router and ISP modem wait say 30 secs
3. plug in the ISP modem and wiat for all lights to comeo n
4. plug in router and wiat for all lights to turn on.
5. now plug in ethernet cord to the desktop and then turn on the computer. if it works then go ahead and turn the others on.
 
If the wireless works but the hard wired computer doesnt then try uninstalling the network adapter on that computer and/or updating the network adapter drivers. If the network adapter is working properly then it should search for a network on its own. Try checking the router settings and make sure its detecting the hard wired computer.

So are you saying that the computer will not connect to either wireless or wired configurations? Make sure all networking drivers are up to date/re-install application for the wireless receiver. Once you know everything is good on that half of things then try to connect. Make sure you are using the right router address ( ex. 192.168.1.1) to get into your settings. If you can get to that page and detect your router you at least know that you are being seen by it.
