I wouldn`t even sit and try and fix it, if the laptop is brand new don`t take any chances take it straight back and demand another one.

That could be a sign that the laptop is not new or has previously been sold and brought back by someone.

Hmmm

Looks like i will have to wait then :(

It's just stuck in an install loop and as I don't have an install disc don't know any way around the problem

Most factory built computers don`t come with a windows disc, they have a recovery partion built into the machine, usually access in windows or using a certain key at boot up, but the fact that it is brand new and is not starting is a very bad sign.

even if you could get windows to re-install it makes no difference.

if i bought a brand new laptop and there was the slightest sign it wasn`t totally new i would be straight back to the shop, and you shouldn`t have to give them it and wait while they fix it, they should just swap it straight there and then for another one.

I agree.Return that laptop and let them see what is the problem. If you got a bad laptop then take it back into the shop immediately before it's too late.
Or maybe it's just a messed HDD data which can be easily fixed by reinstalling OS,but since you are not sure, take it back.
