Help please

I recently got a message displaying my ip and OS, and claiming it was FBI and that I had veiwed illegal stuff! Cp, zoophillia and stuff! And downloading illegal material as well, none of this happened at all.

I was looking at porn at the time, but completely legal porn, I clicked on a video and it redirected me to that page!

I Have heard of ransomware viruses, but this was weird, it didn't ask me for money or lock my browser, it just said I was in trouble for that stuff!

This is all just some bull rap virus right? The FBI wouldn't really give you a warning before hand right? Please help me I'm just so freaked out that it didn't even extort me for money or lock my browser like they usually try.

I've never watched any porn that wasn't 100% legal and I have never downloaded copyrighted content, I just thought that ramsomware usually asked for money and stuff.

It was just some crafted pop-up message. You'd probably be better off finding less sketchy or potentially malware ridden sites for that kind of content.
 
Do yourself a favor and stay away from those types of web pages. Eventually you'll get your machine so screwed up that you'll have to reinstall windows. If your gonna visit that type of page then you need to be constantly scanning your pc for infections.
 
So forgive my ignorance, but I don't have anything to worry about?

I just was scared because usually ransom are asks for money or locks your computer this didn't do either.

It sounded like it was more of a pop-up than ransomware.

Well yea, that's what scared me. I WAS watching regular 100% legal porn clicked on a video on and it took me to that page and then the phone equivalent of a popup occurred. It had to be a virus cause it made my phone get all wonky for a minute, and I had to factory reset.

Really that's the baseline for why I freaked out, if it asked me for money or locked my browser I'd know it was a scam. But it didn't.

I know I didn't do anything it accused me of but being that I was on a porn site I thought I maybe clicked something wrong.
 
YES. If you try to close or navigate away it asks if you're sure you want to leave the page and no matter what you select it does nothing. You end up needing to kill the process.

Thanks alot man. I was worried cause it didn't ask me for money like the typical scam, it may have tried to lock my browser idk cause I got out relatively easy, god I wonder what the **** people are trying to accomplish with that shit.

Like they can't just give you a virus, no they gotta also tell you your being investigated for serious charges that you didn't commit. (Sigh)

Its pretty apparent that most of these scams hide out in and around porn sites so I think im goons cool it with that shit.
