Please someone help me.... I do not know what to do. I like the parts but also the monitor

THANKS!!!

get cheaper ram and make up the difference with the monitor. You can always add the faster ram in later, and in all honestly over clocked ram is not noticeable to the naked eye when playing games.

I don't work sales so its hard to say from that standpoint. I would recomend ditching the DVDRW drive for now and use an old optical drive if you have one (they are like 40 bucks, and you can buy it later on)

Then I would possibly buy cheaper RAM, like viking or crucial something you know that will work and isn't as pricy as corsair or something else

perhaps get a cheaper HD

Then I would recomend going up to the e6600 so you get the 4MB of cache (faster processor all around) instead of the 2MB of cache

Personally, I like ASUS motherboards, but that is my opinion not a fact.

Drop the RAM cooler and any extra overclocking hardware. The C2D already runs kind of cool as is.

Remember the backbone of your system is your motherboard, so get a real good motherobard. The rest can have corners cut. For one I never buy performance ram like corsair or the like, I think its a waste of money and it doesn't really boost performance except for maybe a few points in a benchmark.

So if you got cheaper ram, used your old optical drive for now, dropped the ram cooler and overclocking gear, got the E6600 instead would that allow you go buy the new monitor?

not to mention, a new monitor can be purchased later on, and it is almost the holidays, meaning super crazy after christmas sales. I once bought a brand new returned 19" viewsonic CRT (back in 1999) open box at best buy for 50 bucks. In fact I still have it and it still works great.

You have lots of options, but I would maybe talk to someone who works in sales since they would know about deals, rebates, barebones builds, good killer deals, etc. I always hit up my friends in sales when I am looking for a good deal.

Thank You for Your LONG Reply.

Can someone please tell me if there is a noticble difference between my 2 builds. If there is, I will go with the one w/o the monitor. If there isnt, then i will have to go with the one with the monitor.

THANKS!!
