I can usualy get around any problem that comes up with my computer but this one has me dumbfounded. My computer just turns off when I am in the middle of working. My computer is about 2 years old and I built it myself (AMD 3000+, 1.5gb RAM, GeForce 6600GT, MSI K8N platinum mobo - if you need any of this) I use MSI's Core Center to manage my temp. and I have it set to alam me when the temp reaches 54 C. I checked about 5 minutes before it turned off last and it was at 46. I am not sure what is wrong all I do is flip the switch on the back of the power supply and it turns back on....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the psu might be failing, you might need a new psu

Could be, but we can't say it definately is that, I guess we need to know some more...

What kind of stuff were you doing when it turned off?
Can't you press the power button on the case to turn it back on?

I was just IMing and listening to music at the time today. I have 550W I believe and have never had this happen before. I haven't tried to just hit the power button because I was having temp issues and I just hit the switch so all the power was cut off because I opened the case but luckily it hasn't shut down since about 10 minutes before the first post so I will keep you updated. Thanks for the help
