HELP!!! pleaseeee

hi there
my internet connection seems to be automatically disconecting itself every 10 minutes or so. i can only reconnect 3 or 4 times before nothing happens, so i have to restart my pc constantly. the only time my connection is ok is when the pc is locked, for example when i am downloading stuff during the night. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated!

have you got the drivers up to date/installed correctly?
it's a cable modem right?

yeah definetly im on a 2mb connection using a speedtouch usb modem

if it is connected through USB try using the Ethernet lead and vice-versa.

Are you using a router at all?

i dont have an ethernet lead and im not using a router
