hello pals.i have a desktop running windows 8 which after booting shows only black screen.i was able to boot it to save mode but still had the same problem.so I intend to restore the factory setting but copy the user files first>unfortunately I slaved th windows disk but I culdnt boot to the windows 7 disk as the master but boots to windows 8 as slave disk always despite changing the boot order in bios.pls any help to fix this is appreciated

Just load a Linux live CD of a distro like Parted Magic and copy your files over that way.
