help reinstalling directx for windows xp

OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Running in Parallels on a macbook pro (I don't think this matters)

I get ddraw.dll errors. So I run dxdiag

it says to reinstall directx because ddraw.dll and d3d9.dll are old versions and could cause problems.

is this the correct directx download? There are alot of them?

I download from here and run it and it says that directx is already installed when I run it and it does not let me reinstall. How do I fix this?
 
you could try downloading ddraw.dll and d3d9.dll separately and copy n paste over the old ones or backup then delete the entire directx folder and try reinstalling.

directx files are in C:\WINDOWS\system32, Delete those two files, if it still wont let u reinstall, just google those two files and download and put them back in C:\WINDOWS\system32
