By "speaker jack" I mean the silver/metal type thing you plug into the sound port on your computer tower.

I was having problems with my speakers last night/today, and yesterday I had just opened up my computer for the very first time (any computer opening up, ever). Before opening it back up to see if I unplugged something accidentally on the inside, I thought to see if the problem was the speakers. I borrowed new speakers and found the new speakers' jack would not go in all the way, then noticed the old speakers' jack is about 1/3 or so of the size of the new speakers' jack.

So... how would I go about removing the broken-off jack inside the port?

Well, there are ways to do it but in the case of an OEM machine like yours, you will probably have a cover plate over the back of the 3.5mm audio jacks, or they will be closed back jacks. If you are using a dedicated sound card, then usually the backs of the jack from the inside is open, and would allow you to push the broken top out from the back of the card.
