Help speeding up my comp

Hi guys, just a quick question really. I use my PC for downloading, uni work, browsing the net the usual but its beginning to slow down a little. Programs sometimes take a while to open etc an so i was wondering is there anyway to speed it up without having to buy an install new memory etc as i dont really trust myself to be rooting inside my case if not then maybe a cheap way to help speed it up.

ccleaner is more efficient than windows washer give it a try, for the system specifications just download pcwizard,install it and open it up, then take a screen shot of the first tab/icon or tell us what the processor and physical ram says
 
Auch 256mb ram, there isn't much we can do, other than telling you to try firefox and to defragment your system.

If you could buy at least another stick of 256mb ram that should help
 
I have 512MB RAM and my computer is slow... I'm buying a 1024MB really soon, you should do the same. That will speed up your computer.
 
yeha the problem is definately hardware based. personally i recommend using something like
TuneUp Utilities 2007 to clean your computer
 
i want to buy some more memory for my comp to speed it up. How do i go about doing this and will this speed it up??
