I hope I can get some support in solving this issue.
Seems like mobo issues are following me around.
OK, so I reinstalled windows and have only the chipset drivers and
antivir going. It is windows XP pro. All of a sudden the PC goes black screen
and the HDD light is constant lit....Sata II WD that is. The interesting thing is that I hear little constant clicking noises about 3 times per second and the light on the IDE DVD burner blinks at that same time. It does that for about 30 sec, and the PC sits there and resets itself and starts up again. I have tried different hdd drives and it is exactly the same. Why would this happen, and why does it effect both Sata and IDE.....please help with any input. Mobo is GA-m59sli as in my signature where my total setup is. It happens randomly, and no error message from windows. It does not matter if I let the PC sit or if I use it I believe. I updated the BIOS to the newest version. Done hardware checkup and finds nothing so far.
