Help... stuck on MOBO splash screen at boot

I don't know what happened. I was able to get to BIOS just fine earlier. I installed Windows 7 and after the last reset, it just gets stuck on the Gigabyte splash screen. I tried restarting manually while pressing DEL, and then again after removing the Windows 7 disc. It's still stuck on the splash.

Any idea?
 
ffs, I turned off the power supply and hit the computer's power button, then turned the power supply back on and retried. That seems to have worked.

Any reason for this hiccup? Bad omens?
