bought two laptops not knowing which ones was better.and then giving the other one to my sister or sell it....which computer is better deal wise, for everyday purposes, traveling, lots of use as I will be in medical school..also in the caribbeans..(mind you it's very hot down there)..and if I choose to sell how much could i sell it for if it's still sealed..through craigslist or ebay..personally i like both...can't decide which one to keep...

yeah... i'd go with the core duo... but i'd upgrade the RAM depending on what you plan to do with it...

I was also looking at that second computer the 1505. I have a few questions... Is 1.66 enough for me? Is 512 RAM enough? I use my laptop for web surfing, digital cam photos, music, word processing.. NO GAMES. And also, for the monitor.... i can upgrade to Truelife for 29 bucks, worth it? Or i can get UltraSharp with Truelife for 100 bucks more, worth it?

I would appreciate any replies.. thanks!

the 1.66 should be fine as long as you're not doing really heavy computing, in which case you should be getting a desktop anyways. I would upgrade the ram though, buy it yourself and you can throw in an extra 512 for less than $40 I think. As far as the monitor, there's not really too much of a difference, get whatever one you like best, but if possible, get a smaller screen, I've got a 15.4 and it gets quite large when you try carrying it around

One more question.... How would you compare that 1505 to the Dell XPS M140. Both cost basically the same price. The M140 weighs a little less and has 14 inch monitor opposed to 15 which is nice. But how about the specs, which comp is better. Again, I dont need one for gaming. Thank you!

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=iXM140S1&s=dhs&fb=1

Thats the link, not sure if it will show up with what i customized though. The customizations are basically the same for this and the 1505 anyway, if u want to compare them.
Anyhow, i got the price at 1,162.... theres no rebate on this one though. The 1505 was at like 1,350, but theres a 250 rebate, so same prices pretty much.

I just dont know which computer is better. I am going to assume the 1505 would be just cause it has the duel core.... but i really dont know.

I would deffinetly keep the E1505, its too bad you didnt get the Intel Pro wireless, since that way you can have Centrino. The only major downside to the E1505 is that it has less RAM, but for your uses it should matter that much.

got my E1505 yesterday.. it's OK....although sometimes I see the hour clock thing next to the cursor when I'm not even doing anything....also there's so much additional junk that dell put on this...it's REALLY annoying..how do i get rid of all this without comprising something and messing something up...

i gotta gie it up for the sound (speakers)..sound is amazing FOR a LAPTOP....oh ya, my price was 723.00 from dell total with tax
