i am having a problem with my cdrom drives. they both don't show up in my computer. if i disconnect/reconnect the hardrive the drives come up as new hardware then the disapear again. i haven't been able to use them and it's driving me crazy. when i go to device manager it has a exclamation marks and says Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
any suggestions

i tried it.

i was doing the first one and everything was good till i got to the bottom where is didn't have the file i needed to delete
so i tried step two
i uninstalled both and then looked for new hardware and it came up as new hardware, when it went to install it said that Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Try this..

Leave the hard drive as primary master..

Rejumper the drives 1 at a time and have one as a slave to the primary master hard drive, Then the 2nd CD drive as secondary master..

In your Bios... set everything for auto config..

If that doesnt work rejumper the drives where the other drive is the slave and the other drive is the secondary master..

I had that prob before but I just kept messing with it till it finally liked a setup I had with the drives..
