Help towards a new gaming pc.

Hey i currently want to buy a new gaming system (Just the tower) and i say buy because i dont want to possibly face the problem of messing up the build considering i'm only 17 if age matters.

I live in the UK so my currency is £ (pounds) just to verify that.
I have all other components , monitor , keyboard etc and just want the best tower system i can afford that can run the latest games with ease and perform well.

My Budget is £850

One idea i have was to configure the spec of this current pc's specs and upgrade where i thought was necessary

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/view/Fusion-650-gaming-pc/

Another puzzle i've come across is if i should keep to my current OS - windows XP Pro 32 bit or upgrade to Windows 7 because of the RAM increase. If i did upgrade to Windows 7 i plan on moving over my current HDD's so what would be my plan of action there with the existing OS?

Feel free to ask for information i haven't mentioned and hope to hear from people soon. Much appreciation towards those who help.

Many thanks. Harry

£850 will get you a very nice gaming PC, also its easy to build your own, i was 14 when i built my own, others on here have built theirs and are the same age as me if not younger!

I would recommend building your own, so much easier than people think, cheaper and doesnt take long too!

Others will be willing to put together a parts list for you im sure! :)#
(im busy, sorry)

Yeah for 800 quid you can build a nice machine. I had the same sort of budget as you and I built mine when I was 13.

Total £782.81 https://www.aria.co.uk/myAria/ShoppingBasket (not sure if link will work or not)

You'll need a copy of Windows too, that's likely to be around £100.

You can save money by going for a cheaper motherboard such as this https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Com...DDR3+PCI-Express+Motherboard+?productId=49021 and then maybe the money you save on the board you can put into aftermarket cooling for the 2500K or a better graphics card or a better PSU or something. I have the ZS 650W now and it's good, but not the best PSU - the Corsair TX650's good but it's over £100.

Are you going to want to overclock that 2500K?

One thing I will say, now is pretty much the worst time to build a new system though. Ivy Bridge is just around the corner (they're the new Intel CPUs) and the rest of the NVIDIA Kepler cards should be here shortly. Can you wait until April 29th for the i5 3570K or do you want to build now? That motherboard will work with both Sandy Bridge (ie - the 2500K) and Ivy bridge (ie - the 3570K) and so will the RAM and everything else.

No probs. :)

I would advise waiting for Ivy Bridge by the way, they're coming out on the 29th, so onoly two weeks time.

Not too sure if it is worth the wait because i've currently got a AMD CPU and GPU , Their current product range is good and the AMD Bulldozer looks promising and would choose AMD over Nvidia and intel for my CPU/GPU.

Thanks

You don't want to go with an AMD FX/Bulldozer CPU if you've got £850 to spend on your build. Apparently they're not great chips and actually get beaten by their Phenom II predecessors at stock speed. The 2500K is a great chip, I've got one, it's pretty much all you'd ever need and more.

The Radeon 7850 is a bit faster than the GTX 560 Ti (see http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/547?vs=549) and the same sort of price, they're hard to come by though in the UK I've found. Aria have one for £190 but it's not a great brand (see http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...R5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=49126), I think Dabs may have more.

Edit: Yep, found a decent 7850 on Dabs http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphi...ss-3-0-hdmi-oc-80T8.html?q=radeon 7850&src=16 that would be a solid choice.
