Hello guys, first of all I just started in this forum, but I have used the information on it in the past, and I must say it has been very helpful. I'm interested in upgrading the processor on my desktop, for starters I am aware that it is a bit old but I'm thinking that it might be better for me to upgrade this one instead of buying a new one. I have an emachines T3656 and I was thinking on upgrading the processor to an "Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66 GHz", I did see that it has the same socket as my motherboard but needed to know if by upgrading to this processor is there something else I would need to change. I am aware that the heatshrink has to be upgraded, but other than that is there anything else?
Thanks in advance for the help and great day.
Oh, I'm not a computer genius but have done some minor repairs on computers. But I am a very quick learner...
