I just installed a new pci (gforce 5200fx) graphics card on my 2nd computer. It did have onboard graphics. I went into bios and change grpahics card to pci. But now when I turn computer on it goes to the windows loading bar ok but then it just goes blank....

What do I need to do?

In standard CMOS features.... theres video but the options to change it to are EGA/VGA, cga 40, cga 80, MONO

Did you install any drivers, and/or uninstall any previous drivers? Sounds like there might be a bit of a hardware conflict going on, try booting up in safe mode, and downloading the newest drivers online.

nup still not working

Screen goes blank between windows loading and login screen....

If goes black even after loading safe mode?

Normally, you don't need to change any BIOS settings for a new graphics card, try setting it back to whatever it was.

And this may be a stupid question, but if you disabled onboard video... you plugged the monitor into the graphics card right, and not back into the onboard?

I think you are supposed to install the drivers, and then disable onboard video.

um yer its plugged into new graphics card... windows loads in safe mode and i installed the nvidia drivers in safe mode but its still not loading in normal mode screen goes blank...

How about with your BIOS settings the way they originally were?

Also, try going in safe mode again and disabling the onboard video via the device manager.
