Hi, I just got a Dell Precision 5810 Tower for work recently. One of the USB 3.0 ports, on the front face of the tower, is incredibly difficult to plug into. I have to use a lot of force, an abnormal amount of force, if I try to plug a USB 2.0 device into that port for the desktop to recognize a device is present. And even when a USB device is plugged into it, the USB device looks like it is half-sticking out. It never "clicks" in. That same tower has some USB 3.0 ports on the back that receive USB 2.0 devices very easily. No problems at all. A colleague of mine has a slightly different 5810 tower that has normal USB 3.0 plugs on the front. When I look at my USB 3.0 port, it does look different than the other USB 3.0 ports on the back of the desktop. It’s kind of hard to describe, but if you look head-on at the USB 3.0 ports that are easy to plug into, you see black plastic and you can’t see the gold prongs (I took photos of both my tower and my colleague's tower to show the differences in the USB 3.0 ports on the front face). But if you look head-on at the USB 3.0 port that is difficult to plug into, you still can see the gold prongs. I took photos of the USB 3.0 port so you can see what I mean. One of the USB 3.0 ports shown is easy to plug into, and one of them is hard to plug into. Can someone tell me if my port is missing a black cover? Or is it supposed to be that way for some special USB device to plug into it? Thanks so much
