help! USB ports not working [Pic]

thanks for the responses dishwasher, but let me assure you, please forget all about the ipod, that just proved to me that the motherboard itself had working usb ports as any ports i plugged the ipod into during boot would start the ipod into 'do not disconnect' mode which was a good thing. Also, i've plugged my mouse and keyboard into every single usb port and they all work fine. This is more of a driver issue than anything, and I was hoping somebody would have some simpile registry fix that would stop vista from seeing all other usb hardware as 'unknown' or 'unidentified' devices.

right, sounds like either your msising the vista drivers or they might be unsigned or something? the new version of itunes and ipod drivers are apaprently Vista compatible so try downloading it directly from apple rasther than installing it from the iPod cd

>_> i've tried it all, even the random registry fixes, considering it just stopped working that one time i plugged my ipod in, I'm just gonna completely reinstall vista in a few days or when I have free time. Thanks for the responses guys. (I can reformat from booting from the disc without deleting anything, just having it moved to Windows.old)..
